Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeSix months after the night at the Meridian Grand Hotel, a warm autumn breeze rustled through the golden oak trees of the Salvatore estate on Lake Michigan.

The wide stone terrace overlooking the sparkling blue water was decorated with blooming white roses, emerald silks, and long candlelit tables for a private celebration.
Over fifty prominent legal directors, foundation board members, close friends, and loyal lieutenants gathered around the tables, enjoying fine food and live acoustic music.
Elena stood near the marble balustrade wearing a breathtaking, floor-length emerald silk evening gown that draped over her graceful figure like liquid jewel. Her dark hair fell in glossy waves over her shoulders, her hazel eyes shining with absolute, unshakeable happiness.
Down on her left hand rested the eight-carat emerald-cut diamond ring, set beside a platinum band engraved with the words: FOREVER SOVEREIGN.
Dante walked out onto the terrace wearing an immaculate black suit, stepping up behind her, wrapping his broad, warm arms around her waist, pulling her back flush against his solid chest.
He pressed a sweet, lingering kiss against her temple, his gray eyes shining with an absolute, unshakeable devotion.
"What are you thinking about, my queen?" Dante whispered softly into her ear.
Elena looked out over the vast, sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan stretching before them into the unbroken horizon, feeling a deep, weightless peace settle into every corner of her soul.
"I was thinking about the three public buses," Elena answered softly, turning in his arms to rest her hands against his broad chest. "And the girl who thought she belonged in the back row."
Dante offered a rare, breathtaking smile—a look of pure, eternal love that lit up his severe features.
"You never belonged in the back row, Elena," Dante promised, leaning down to press his lips softly, fiercely against hers in a deep, unhurried kiss. "You were born to rule."
From the terrace below, Romano raised his champagne glass, bowing his head in deep respect as the guests clinked their glasses under the stars.
There were no cruel mothers-in-law whispering insults in hallways. There were no weak ex-fiancés begging for mercy. There were no tears swallowed in quiet apartments.

The lonely, broken girl was dead forever. The sovereign matriarch had claimed her throne.
And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved every inch of her soul, holding her head high, Elena knew that her life, her heart, and her future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
