Chapter 5 - The Fall of the SisterVivian let out a high-pitched, hysterical scream, rushing toward the table, her fingernails raised, aiming straight for Ren's face. "I'LL KILL YOU! YOU STOLE MY LIFE!"

THWIP!
Before Vivian could take two steps, Marco and two broad-shouldered Kaine operators stepped forward, catching her arms, forcing her hands behind her back, locking heavy steel handcuffs around her wrists with an iron snap.
CLICK. CLICK.
"Vivian Daly," Lead Federal Prosecutor Vance announced cleanly, stepping into the boardroom with two uniformed officers. "You are under arrest for Corporate Embezzlement, Wire Fraud, and Tax Extortion."
Vivian thrashed wildly, screaming curses at Ren as the officers dragged her flat across the carpet toward the service elevator in chains.
"Ren! Help me! I'm your sister!" Vivian shrieked, her voice cracking into pathetic, desperate whimpers as the elevator doors closed.
Ren stood up slowly, looking at the empty doorway.
There was zero rage in her heart. Zero regret. Only a deep, weightless realization of her own unbroken strength.
Dorian stood up beside her, wrapping his broad, warm arm around her waist, pulling her body flush against his solid frame. He pressed a sweet, lingering kiss against her temple, his storm-gray eyes burning with an absolute, unshakeable pride.

"You just dismantled your family's empire in ten minutes, my queen," Dorian whispered softly into her ear.
"I didn't dismantle an empire, Dorian," Ren answered, turning in his arms to rest her hands flat against his broad lapels, looking up into his carved face. "I took back what belonged to me."
