Chapter 7 - The Unbroken VowThe garden was bathed in golden sunlight. Around fifty of Julian’s closest, most trusted friends and loyal associates stood scattered among the blooming rosebushes, clapping warmly as Genevieve and Julian walked out beneath a handcrafted wooden archway draped in wildflowers.

There were no media cameras. No gossip columnists. No corrupt doctors or parasitic relatives. Just people who loved them, respected them, and knew the true, hard-won value of loyalty.
At the altar stood an old, dignified magistrate who had known the Vance family for decades.
As Julian and Genevieve faced each other, holding hands beneath the open sky, the gentle spring breeze rustled the leaves overhead.
“We are gathered here today,” the magistrate began warmly, “not to bind two strangers in a social contract, but to witness the voluntary union of two souls who have already survived the fire together.”
Julian looked down into Genevieve’s eyes, his expression softening completely. He didn't need cue cards or a scripted speech. He spoke directly from his soul.
“Genevieve,” Julian said, his voice carrying clearly across the quiet garden. “On our wedding night, you showed me your scars, thinking they made you broken. You were wrong. They only proved how fiercely you fought to survive a world that tried to destroy you. From this day forward, my life, my home, and my heart are yours—unconditionally, forever.”
Tears welled in Genevieve’s eyes, but this time, they were tears of pure, unadulterated peace.
“Julian,” she responded, her voice steady and resonant. “You didn't just save me from my past. You gave me the courage to step out of the shadows and claim my own future. With you, I am never hiding again.”
The magistrate smiled, his eyes twinkling. “By the power vested in me, and by the strength of your own unyielding promises, I now pronounce you truly husband and wife. Julian, you may kiss your bride.”
Julian didn't hesitate. He pulled Genevieve into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her with a deep, passionate finality that made the entire garden erupt into cheers, applause, and a shower of scattered rose petals.

The past was buried. The monsters were behind bars. The scars were no longer badges of shame, but symbols of an indestructible survival.
As Julian swept her up in his arms and spun her around beneath the brilliant afternoon sun, Genevieve laughed—a bright, ringing sound that echoed up into the sky, marking the glorious, hard-fought dawn of a brand-new, unbroken life.
