Chapter 7 - The Dawn of a New Legacy(Target: 2,000 words - Focus: A beautiful gathering at the estate celebrating a new beginning; a happy ending confirming Esther’s pregnancy and a life filled with true love.)

One year later.

The gardens of the estate were filled with life, laughter, and the gentle melody of an acoustic guitar. Children played on the lawn, and women who had once arrived with broken spirits were laughing together under the summer sun. It was the annual celebration of the foundation's success.

I stood on the veranda, holding a glass of fresh lemonade, watching the scene.

My assistant walked up to me, handing me a small progress report. "Mr. Vance, your mother and sister’s final asset liquidation has been completed. The funds have been fully transferred to the foundation's educational scholarship fund, as per the court order."

"Thank you," I said, signing the document. Victoria and Gabriela were currently serving their sentences in a state facility, far away from the society they had once tried to dominate. They had become irrelevant to our lives, a distant shadow completely erased by the light we had built.

Suddenly, I felt a soft hand slip into mine. I looked down to see Esther standing beside me. She wore a flowing white linen dress, her hair catching the golden afternoon light. She looked radiant—not just because of her happiness, but because of the beautiful, visible roundness of her pregnant belly.

We were expecting our first child, a baby girl, in just two months.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked, leaning against my shoulder.

"I was thinking about the first night I came home early," I murmured, bringing her hand to my lips and kissing the soft, healed skin of her fingers. "How a moment of utter heartbreak turned into the most beautiful journey of my life."

"We turned the shadows into sunlight, Preston," she whispered, looking out over the crowded garden where lives were being rebuilt every day.

I wrapped my arms around her from behind, my hands resting protectively over her pregnant stomach, feeling the soft kick of our future daughter. The music kept playing, the laughter echoed through the valley, and for the first time in my life, I knew that this house was finally a home. We had defeated the cruelty of the past, and together, we had built a legacy of love that would last for generations.
