Chapter 6 - The Brother's SanctuaryTwo months after the night at Murphy's Bar, the life I had known was completely transformed.

With Nathan’s personal support and legal team, my younger brother, Michael, was transferred to the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan.
His specialized oncology treatments were fully funded by the newly established Sophie Vance Medical Trust—a ten-million-dollar healthcare initiative created by Nathan to support families struggling with catastrophic medical debt.
Within eight weeks, Michael’s bone marrow transplant was declared a complete, miraculous success. His strength returned, his cheeks regained their color, and he was officially discharged into outpatient care.
On a warm, sunlit afternoon in late May, Michael and I sat on the wide green lawn of the Blackwood Estate, playing with a golden retriever puppy that Nathan had surprised him with for his sixteenth birthday.
Nathan walked out onto the terrace wearing a dark linen suit without a tie, carrying a leather folder under his arm.
When Michael saw Nathan, his eyes lit up with deep, genuine admiration. He jumped up from the grass, running over to offer a enthusiastic high-five.
"Mr. Blackwood! Look! Captain learned how to fetch!" Michael shouted happily.
Nathan smiled—a rare, breathtaking smile that transformed his intimidating face into something warm and strikingly handsome—and clapped Michael gently on the shoulder.
"Good work, Michael," Nathan said smoothly. "Keep training him."
I stood up from the teak lounge chair, walking over to join them, wrapping my arm comfortably around Nathan’s waist.
Nathan pulled me flush against his side, his broad arm wrapping securely around my waist, pressing a sweet, lingering kiss against my temple.

"How are the Q2 trust reports looking, Mr. Blackwood?" I teased softly, looking up into his storm-gray eyes.
"Flawless, Donna Sophie," Nathan answered in a low, velvet baritone that made my heart melt. "Because my chief advisor organized them."
