Chapter 3 - The Audit on the WallDaniel’s bloodshot eyes bulged out of his head as he stared at the television screen.
Printed across the top in bold, black legal typography were the names of the two primary defendants under investigation for grand larceny, corporate espionage, and illegal asset stripping:
DANIEL TRAN — DIRECTOR OF TRAN LOGISTICS SHELL ENTERPRISE
MARGARET TRAN — PRIMARY BENEFICIARY OF UNLAWFUL ESCROW ACCOUNT #8841
"What... what the hell is this?!" Daniel stammered, his voice cracking into high, pathetic squeaks as he backed against the head table. "Who put this on the TV?!"
I took a slow, deliberate step forward, pulling a crisp, white paper from my blazer pocket, laying it flat over the thirty-two-million-dong invoice on the table.
"For three years, Daniel," I spoke, my voice echoing cleanly through the silent dining room, "you told your family that I was a useless housewife who lived under your roof and survived on your charity."
I looked at Margaret, who was standing frozen behind her chair, her hands trembling violently against her Ao Dai.
"And for three years," I continued, "your mother threw money at my face, called me a servant, and demanded that I cook for her relatives while you took pictures of me kneeling on the floor."
I tapped the legal document on the table.
"What you didn't tell your relatives," I revealed flatly, "is that the company you've been secretly trying to steal from for the last six months—Ocean Crown Seafood—doesn't belong to Vance Logistics."
I raised my hazel eyes, locking my gaze onto Daniel’s pale, sweat-slicked face with an absolute, unshakeable heat.
"Ocean Crown Seafood belongs to me," I declared. "I am the founder, sole shareholder, and Chief Executive Officer."
A collective, horrified gasp swept through the thirty Tran family relatives.

Uncle Hung dropped his wine glass, the crystal shattering into a hundred glittering pieces against the marble floorboards.
"EMILY IS THE OWNER OF OCEAN CROWN?!" Uncle Hung shouted in utter, speech-bound shock. "The multi-million-dollar distribution giant?!"
