Chapter 3 - The Unmasking at the DaisThe silence that blanketed the Grand Ballroom was suffocating.

Five hundred titans of industry watched in absolute awe as the woman in black stepped onto the raised platform.
Arthur Vance stepped up to the podium, adjusting the gold microphone, his clear baritone echoing through the high-performance sound system across the entire hall.
"Honored guests, governors, and esteemed partners," Arthur announced smoothly. "Tonight, on behalf of Sterling Investment Group, it is my distinct honor to introduce the founder, primary equity owner, and global Chief Executive Officer of our conglomerate..."
Arthur turned his body, bowing deeply toward me.
"...Madam Clara Sterling."
The room detonated into a roar of thunderous applause.
Governors stood up from their tables. Bank presidents clapped enthusiastically. The heads of international logistics firms bowed their heads in deep, unreserved respect to the woman who controlled sixty billion dollars in global venture capital.
Down on the floor, Julian stood completely paralyzed.
His hands shook violently at his sides, his chest heaving in shallow, terrified gasps as the world he thought he had mastered dissolved into absolute, chaotic madness in a single fraction of a second.
"Founder...?" Julian stammered, his blood turning to ice in his veins. "CEO of Sterling...? No... no, she's my wife... she's Clara Moretti! She lived above a print shop! She drives a rusty sedan!"
"Julian..." Victoria whispered, her face completely drained of color, her fingers digging violently into his arm. "Julian, tell me this is a mistake! Tell me she isn't Clara Sterling! We applied for a forty-million-dollar credit line from her firm!"
Evelyn stumbled forward through the crowd, her gold gown rustling aggressively as she tried to push past my security guards near the steps of the dais.
"Clara!" Evelyn shrieked, her voice cracking with unhinged, frantic desperation. "Clara, stop this ridiculous farce right now! What are you doing dressed up like that?! You are Julian's wife! Get down from there and explain this to these people!"
Marcus stepped into Evelyn’s path like a stone wall, his broad hand catching her shoulder, shoving her back three paces with effortless, cold efficiency.
"Step back, ma'am," Marcus warned, his voice dropping into a razor-sharp whisper. "You are addressing the Chairman."
I walked slowly to the edge of the dais, looking down at the four people standing in front of the stage.
I looked at Julian—the man who had left me bleeding over a sink while he took his PR director to a gala. I looked at Evelyn, who had called me a 'neighborhood temp' after eight years of devotion. I looked at Chloe, who had mocked my life, and Victoria, who had straightened my husband's tie in my home.
I adjusted the gold microphone.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen," I spoke softly, my voice calm, smooth, and echoing cleanly through the quiet ballroom. "Tonight, Sterling Investment Group convenes to review our Q4 corporate portfolio allocations. As many of you know, our firm was founded on a simple principle: we invest in integrity, competence, and truth. And we divest from dead weight."

Julian’s eyes widened in horror as he heard his own words returned to him across a room of five hundred powerful men.
"Therefore," I continued, pressing a button on my podium tablet, "I am issuing an immediate, public disclosure regarding our pending preliminary review of Moretti Logistics."
