Chapter 3 - The DisinheritanceDominic Moretti stared at his son in total, speech-bound horror.

Lorenzo set the tablet down slowly, leaning his hands heavily on his oak cane. The silence in the library was so heavy, so absolute, that the sound of the rain outside seemed to amplify into a roar.
"Vincent," Lorenzo spoke softly, a tone far more dangerous than his earlier roar. "You took money from the family holding trust—money earmarked for your wife and your newborn heir—to build a secret life for your assistant."
"Grandfather, it's not what you think!" Vincent begged, his hands shaking as he took a step toward the desk. "I love Claire! I love Matteo! Sophia is just—"
"Sophia is your mistress," Lorenzo stated deadpan, cutting through his grandson's pathetic excuses like an iron blade. "And you are an arrogant, foolish boy who believes that power gives him the right to humiliate his family."
Lorenzo looked at his son, Dominic.
"Dominic," the Patriarch commanded flatly. "Execute Section 9 of the Master Family Charter immediately."
Vincent froze, his eyes bulging in pure, unvarnished terror. "Section 9...?! Grandfather, NO! You can't!"
Section 9 of the Moretti Family Charter was the nuclear option—a clause reserved for heirs who brought public disgrace or financial corruption upon the family name:
EXECUTIVE SUSPENSION: Vincent was immediately stripped of his title as CEO of Moretti Global Logistics, his voting shares frozen, and his executive access codes revoked.
ASSET RECALL: The eight point five million dollars transferred for the Lake Forest mansion was classified as corporate embezzlement, and immediate legal proceedings were initiated to seize the deed from Sophia Reynolds.
TRUST TRANSFER: One hundred percent of Vincent’s personal equity in the family holding firm was transferred directly into The Matteo Moretti Irrevocable Heir Trust, managed solely by me, Claire Moretti, as primary trustee.
Sophia let out a high-pitched, hysterical shriek, grabbing Vincent's arm. "Vincent! What are they talking about?! They can't take my house! You signed the papers!"
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HIM!" Dominic barked, two broad-shouldered security guards stepping into the library. "Escort Miss Reynolds off the property immediately. Strip her of her corporate credentials and seal her office at headquarters."
"Vincent! Help me!" Sophia wept as the security guards grabbed her arms, dragging her out of the library in total, public disgrace, her innocent mask completely destroyed.
Vincent fell to his knees on the Persian rug in front of his grandfather, weeping groveling, desperate tears. "Grandfather... Father... please! Give me a chance to fix this!"

Lorenzo didn't look at him. He looked at me, his eyes soft with profound respect and sorrow.
"Claire, my dear," Lorenzo said gently. "Take Matteo upstairs to the master suite. This estate is yours. And whatever you decide to do regarding your marriage... the entire Moretti family stands behind you."
