Chapter 6 - The Boardroom ConfrontationThe following morning at 9:00 a.m., the main executive boardroom on the top floor of Corsaro House was packed.

All regional directors, senior legal counsel, security chiefs, and Rafe Corsaro sat around the massive polished obsidian table. At the head of the table sat Emilio Corsaro.

He wasn't in a wheelchair.

Leaning heavily on a carved ebony cane, dressed in a sharp, freshly tailored three-piece suit that fit his frame far better than it had days ago, Emilio stood at the head of the table. His posture was commanding, his eyes sharp as broken glass.

Rafe stood near the opposite end, his face twisting in sudden, uncontrolled panic as he saw his older brother standing upright.

“This is an outrage,” Rafe shouted, slamming his hands down on the table. “Doctor’s orders stated you were medically unfit to participate in corporate governance! Security, get him back to his quarters!”

Not a single security guard moved. They all looked toward Lucas, who stood near the door—and noticed that two federal agents in dark suits stood on either side of him, holding federal arrest warrants.

“Sit down, Rafe,” Emilio’s voice rang out, cold and absolute, carrying the full weight of a crime syndicate and a legitimate global empire combined.

Marcus Sterling, the primary corporate attorney who had tried to force the filings through days earlier, began sweating profusely as federal marshals stepped forward, placing a thick stack of forensic audit reports right in front of him.

“For the past twenty-four months,” Emilio announced, sweeping his gaze across every terrified face in the room, “certain individuals within this organization have engaged in systemic asset misappropriation, corporate fraud, and deliberate domestic poisoning under the guise of family management.”

Rafe lunged toward the exit, but the federal agents moved with practiced precision, pinning his arms behind his back and snapping steel handcuffs around his wrists before he could take three steps.

“You can't do this!” Rafe screamed, thrashing against the officers as he was dragged toward the heavy mahogany doors. “I’m your brother! I kept this family together while you were rotting away!”

“You didn't keep the family together, Rafe,” Emilio said quietly, watching him leave without a shred of pity. “You just accelerated your own sentence.”

As the heavy doors slammed shut behind Rafe and his detained associates, absolute silence descended upon the boardroom.

Emilio turned slowly toward the door at the back of the room where the service staff typically entered.
