Chapter 5 - The Reconstruction of HomeBy 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of indigo and gold, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

Four-year-old Lily ran up the marble steps, holding a wooden toy sailboat I had carved for her, throwing her small arms around my leg.

I dropped onto my knees flat on the stone terrace, picking my daughter up into my broad arms, kissing her soft cheek as she giggled happily.

"Daddy!" Lily chimed brightly, pointing toward the sky. "Look! The fireworks are starting!"

Across the dark, sparkling blue waters of the Hudson River, brilliant bursts of gold, sapphire, and silver light exploded into the night sky, illuminating the smiling faces of our guests gathered on the lawn below.

I stood up, keeping Lily resting securely against my broad shoulder while holding Hannah’s small hand in my broad palm.

Marco raised his champagne glass toward our table, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the quiet grounds.

"To Don Grant, Donna Hannah, and Princess Lily!" Marco toasted with deep, genuine pride. "The sovereign family who rebuilt our home with unbroken strength, truth, and eternal love!"

"To the Whitaker family!" the entire terrace echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, dozens of crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.

The cold, ruthless Don was dead forever. The sovereign father had claimed his throne.
