Chapter 7 - The Final WaltzThe applause that greeted them as the heavy oak doors of the grand ballroom swung open was deafening.

Four hundred of the most powerful people in the country stood beneath the glittering chandeliers, clapping and raising their champagne flutes as Julian and Ava walked down the aisle together. There were no ghosts of the past here. No lingering shadows of betrayal or cheap wine on black silk. Only music, light, and a future built on absolute, unshakable strength.

Later that evening, as the orchestra transitioned into a slow, sweeping waltz, Julian pulled Ava close against his chest on the center of the polished dance floor.

The room seemed to fade away until it was just the two of them moving in perfect sync to the rhythm of the strings.

“You know,” Ava murmured, resting her head against Julian’s shoulder, “six months ago, I thought my life was over when I got that text message.”

Julian spun her gracefully under his arm before pulling her back into his embrace, his dark eyes shining with quiet emotion. “And now?”

“Now,” Ava smiled, looking around the magnificent ballroom filled with people who respected her, a thriving event planning firm bearing her own name, and a husband who would burn down kingdoms to keep her safe, “I wouldn't change a single drop of that champagne for the world.”

Julian kissed her forehead tenderly as the final notes of the waltz echoed through the hall, sealing their happily ever after with a grace that no enemy could ever touch again.
