Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeAt 8:30 PM, as the Minnesota sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky over Lake Minnetonka in brilliant shades of rose, gold, and deep sapphire, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

The guests laughed and drank champagne near the glass hearth, their voices echoing happily across the quiet water.

I stood near the edge of the stone terrace with Leandro, holding a glass of sunlit champagne, looking out at the sparkling lights reflecting off the calm lake below.

Leo stepped up to our table carrying a silver tray holding two fresh glasses of vintage wine.

"For Don Leandro and Donna Clare Vitali," Leo smiled warmly, offering a respectful bow before stepping back inside.

I picked up the crystal glasses, handing one to Leandro, clinking my glass gently against his under the warm evening sky.

"To the man who danced with me when the world was watching," I toasted softly, my hazel eyes fixed entirely on his face.

"To the woman who loved my scars before she knew my name," Leandro smiled back, taking a slow sip of the rich, sweet wine.

Leandro wrapped his broad arm securely around my waist, pulling me flush against his solid frame, as we watched the moon rise over the snow-capped pine trees.

There were no cruel socialites laughing at dinner tables. There were no fake promises made by arrogant men. There were no tears swallowed in quiet cubicles.

The lonely, underestimated girl was dead forever. The sovereign matriarch had claimed her throne.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved every inch of my soul, holding my head high, I knew that my life, my heart, and my future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
