Chapter 7 - The Unbroken Horizon

The sun dipped below the Chicago skyline, painting the horizon in brilliant shades of violet, amber, and deep rose, casting long, elegant shadows across the grand estate.
Inside the main dining room, the heavy mahogany table was set for dinner—not with the sterile, lonely formality of the past, but with warm candles, fresh wildflowers plucked from the garden, and the rich, comforting aroma of home-cooked food drifting in from the kitchen.
Emiliano sat at the head of the table. To his right, Daniela was animatedly describing her day at school, her hands gesturing wildly as Martina giggled uncontrollably across from her. At the other end of the table sat Rosa, sharing a quiet, knowing smile with Marco as he poured a glass of sparkling water.
There were no secrets hiding behind frosted glass walls anymore. There were no hidden cameras spying on shadows in the dark, no whispered lies poisoning the air, and no ghosts lurking in the corners of the rooms.
Emiliano picked up his water glass, looking around the table at the faces of the people who had brought him back from the edge of his own isolation.
“To new beginnings,” Emiliano said softly, raising his glass so the candlelight caught the crystal rim.
Daniela and Martina immediately grabbed their cups of milk, clinking them against their father’s glass with enthusiastic ringing sounds. Rosa raised her glass with a quiet, elegant nod, her dark eyes reflecting the warm, steady glow of a family finally put back together.

“To new beginnings, Mr. Duarte,” Rosa said softly.
Emiliano took a sip, looking out through the towering glass windows toward the quiet, starlit lawn of the estate. The road ahead was clear, the horizon wide and unbroken, and for the first time in his life, the billionaire CEO knew with absolute certainty that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
