Chapter 3 - The Assembly at the Grand ConcourseAt 10:00 AM the following morning, the soaring mahogany assembly hall atop the forty-story Chicago Financial Center was packed to absolute capacity.

Over four hundred prominent real estate magnates, commercial shipping directors, municipal judges, and syndicate capos gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers for the annual Midwest Logistics & Heritage Assembly.

Sitting near the head of the raised executive table, wearing a tailored navy suit, holding a silver pen, was Dominic’s chief co-conspirator, Richard Sterling-Smith. Beside him sat his corrupt legal counsel, smirking as they prepared to sign corporate buyout documents to absorb the Moretti shipping berths.

"Gentlemen!" Richard announced smoothly into the central microphone, his voice dripping with false authority, "today we ratify the administrative takeover of the Moretti Logistics Berths due to Don Vincent's recent operational oversights—"

BOOM!

The heavy double oak doors of the executive assembly hall were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!

The chatter of four hundred high-society guests vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.

Walking down the central red-carpeted aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four armed federal marshals, was Don Vincent Moretti.

I wore an magnificent dark charcoal bespoke suit, my broad six-foot-four frame squared, radiating an untouchable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.

And walking right beside me, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk suit that celebrated her graceful figure, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, her hazel eyes glowing with sovereign victory, was Donna Rosa Delgado-Moretti.

And walking right between us, holding both our hands proudly, wearing a miniature dark emerald suit with her plastic earpiece and a brand-new gold bodyguard badge pinned to her chest, was four-year-old Lily Delgado.

Around Rosa’s neck hung the fifty-carat emerald signet pendant of the Delgado-Moretti Dynasty, her presence dominating the entire room.

Richard Sterling-Smith dropped his silver pen.

CRASH!

The heavy metal pen clattered flat against the mahogany table, rolling onto the floor as his face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green.

"R-RICHARD...?! VINCENT?! ROSA?!" Richard stammered, taking two panicked steps backward against the stage. "WHAT IS THIS ILL-MANNERED INTERRUPTING?! SHE IS JUST A HOUSEKEEPER!"

"She isn't a housekeeper, Richard," Vincent Moretti announced flatly, his clear, deep baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the temperature to zero. "She is the Executive Chairwoman of the Delgado-Moretti Trust... and the sole owner of your entire logistics network."

Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Richard Sterling-Smith’s trembling hands:

TOTAL MARITIME RECOVERY: Certified federal enforcement of the Delgado-Moretti Trust Deeds, transferring 100% controlling equity directly to Chairwoman Rosa Delgado-Moretti and her heir, Lily Delgado.

ARREST WARRANTS: International arrest warrants served on Richard Sterling-Smith and Dominic Cole for Grand Larceny, Wire Fraud, Frame-Up Conspiracy, and $150 Million Embezzlement.

IMMEDIATE EVICTION & ASSET FREEZE: Total forfeiture of all personal properties, luxury vehicles, and bank accounts registered under Sterling-Smith’s shell companies.

"THIS IS UNLAWFUL!" Richard shrieked, thrashing wildly as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "VINCENT, YOU ARE A SYNDICATE BOSS! YOU CAN'T SACRIFICE US FOR A SERVANT AND A CHILD!"

"I didn't sacrifice you for a servant, Richard," Vincent corrected deadpan, stepping beside Rosa and Lily, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around Rosa's waist, pulling her frame flush against his solid side. "I destroyed you because Rosa is the Matriarch of this empire... and Lily is my head of security."

Richard Sterling-Smith and Dominic Cole thrashed and wept hysterical, groveling pleas as marshals locked heavy steel cuffs around their wrists behind their backs, dragging them out of the Chicago Financial Center in total, public disgrace, while news cameras captured their complete downfall for the morning news.
