Chapter 7 - Unbroken Horizons

The sun began its slow, majestic descent into the western horizon, painting the Caribbean sky in brilliant strokes of amber, violet, and deep crimson.
My father stood beside me, raising his glass in a silent toast. We didn't need to speak words of gratitude or reassurance; our survival and our renewed strength spoke for themselves.
Looking out over the endless blue water, I reflected on the naive, trusting young woman who had boarded that yacht two years ago believing that love was enough to protect her. That girl had died on the deck that night. In her place stood a woman who knew the true value of vigilance, courage, and an unbreakable will.
My phone buzzed softly in my pocket. I pulled it out—not the secret burner phone of a terrified victim, but my personal encrypted smartphone. A message from Diego Salvatierra flashed across the screen: “Corporate restructuring finalized. All accounts secured. Have a wonderful weekend, Madam CEO.”
I smiled, typing a quick reply before slipping the phone back into my pocket.
The world was vast, complicated, and sometimes filled with hidden predators waiting in the dark. But as I stood there in the warm evening breeze, breathing in the scent of the sea, I knew one thing with absolute certainty:
