Chapter 6 - The Fall of the MillersBefore I could speak, the heavy oak doors of the master study were thrown open without warning.

Arthur Miller—the sixty-year-old Chief Financial Officer of Caldwell Logistics—marched into the room, his face flushed red with an ugly, sweat-slicked rage. He wore an expensive dark suit, his tie crooked, his hands trembling violently as he held his smartphone.
"ETHAN!" Arthur bellowed, his voice laced with unhinged, arrogant panic. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! Federal agents just raided my home in Highland Park! They seized my private server, frozen my bank accounts, and arrested my nephew Ryan at your security wing!"
Arthur pointed a shaking, manicured finger at me where I stood crying beside the desk.
"You did all this because of this penniless little maid?!" Arthur shrieked hysterically. "You're ruining my family's career for a servant who cleans your floors?!"
Ethan didn't flinch.
He stepped slowly out from behind his massive oak desk, his tall six-foot-three frame towering over the enraged CFO.
His storm-gray eyes went dark as mountain ice, a cold, sovereign authority radiating from his broad shoulders that made Arthur take an involuntary step backward toward the doorway.
"You're wrong, Arthur," Ethan spoke smoothly. His deep baritone was quiet, but it carried an unyielding, velvet power that shattered the quiet room. "I didn't ruin your life because of Ivy's job title."
Ethan stepped closer, stopping three inches from Arthur’s sweating face.
"I ruined your life because your nephew put his hands on her throat," Ethan revealed flatly. "And because you spent three years using your corporate equity to protect an animal."
Ethan reached into his desk drawer, pulling out a sealed Manila document, throwing it flat against Arthur's chest.
"That is your formal summary termination notice, Arthur," Ethan declared. "You are stripped of all executive titles, all corporate equity, and all voting shares in Caldwell Logistics. Special Agent Miller from the FBI is waiting in the estate driveway to take you into custody for thirty million dollars in federal wire fraud."
Arthur’s jaw sagged open in total, horror-stricken realization. His hands shook so violently he dropped the Manila folder onto the carpet. "Ethan... please! We've been business partners for fifteen years! You can't do this to me!"
"Get out of my house, Arthur," Ethan commanded softly.
Two uniformed Federal Marshals stepped into the study from the hallway, locking heavy steel handcuffs around Arthur Miller’s wrists behind his back.
