Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden TriadIn late September 2026, ten months after that fateful rainy evening under the bus shelter, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Sophie, Lucas & Maya Mitchell Heritage Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, my broad six-foot-four frame squared, my handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, holding four-year-old Sophie, Lucas, and Maya near my sides, was me.
Beside me stood Donna Grace Bennett-Mitchell, looking breathtaking in a floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown, her hazel eyes glowing with complete happiness.
Around Grace’s neck hung my late father’s restored gold signet pendant.
I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Ten months ago, I stood outside a rainy bus shelter in Chicago, saw three shivering children wearing red raincoats, and saved my soul," I announced to the silent room, my gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable emotion as I looked down at Grace and our triplets. "And on that night, a brave mother who sacrificed everything to keep her children alive shattered a dark conspiracy, claimed her true birthright, and brought my entire world back to the light."
I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To Grace, Sophie, Lucas, and Maya!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
