Chapter 6 - The Hidden ThreatWhile Julian and Katherine forged a fragile truce over their son’s incubator, an invisible danger was quietly closing in on them from the outside world. The executive Julian had fired during his swift boardroom purge—disgraced and desperate—had discovered through old investigative channels that Katherine was staying in the Hudson Valley under deep isolation, and that their premature infant was vulnerable.

Seeking leverage to force Julian into a lucrative corporate buyout and public reinstatement, the former COO contacted a tabloid journalist specializing in corporate scandals and high-society exposés, leaking the classified medical records of the premature birth along with malicious insinuations about an arranged marriage on the verge of collapse.
The threat materialized on a crisp Thursday afternoon. As Julian walked back from the hospital cafeteria carrying coffee for Katherine, his phone buzzed incessantly with urgent notifications from his private security detail. A mob of reporters and paparazzi had breached the perimeter of the hospital grounds, tipped off by an anonymous source, thrusting cameras toward the NICU windows and threatening to disrupt the sterile environment vital to Leo’s survival.
Julian’s blood ran cold. Rage, dark and absolute, surged through his veins. He didn't care about his own reputation, but threatening his newborn son and a recovering mother crossed a line from which there was no return.

Without breaking stride, Julian dialed his head of private security. “Lock down the entire pediatric wing. No press, no unauthorized visitors, no exceptions. Find out who leaked the hospital manifest, and have my legal team draft criminal conspiracy charges before they can even draw their next breath.”
Within twenty minutes, the hospital security force—backed by local law enforcement—swept through the lobby, dispersing the paparazzi with swift legal injunctions and escorting the instigators off the property in handcuffs. When Julian returned to the NICU, his jaw was tight and his eyes burned with fierce determination. Katherine looked up from the incubator, reading the storm in his expression. Instead of asking questions, she stood up, walked over, and rested her hand against his chest, grounding the fury before it could consume him.
