Chapter 3 - The Federal ExtractionThe chaos inside the Moretti Estate erupted into an immediate, high-stakes standoff.

Harrison’s private guards reached for their weapons, but twenty additional federal tactical agents surrounded the perimeter of the room, laser sights trained dead center on Harrison’s chest.
"Put your hands where we can see them, Moretti!" Marcus Vance commanded, his voice booming like thunder through the medical suite.
Harrison slowly raised his hands, his gray eyes burning with an apocalyptic rage as he stared at Prosecutor Vance, then turned his gaze back to me.
"This changes nothing, Chloe," Harrison spat out, his voice shaking with terrifying conviction. "My legal team will post bail before midnight. Every judge in this district belongs to me. You are carrying my heirs, and you will return to this house!"
"She won't be returning anywhere near you, Mr. Moretti," Litigator Bridget Colton stated flatly, sliding a federal medical transfer order onto the examination table. "Mrs. Moretti is being placed under immediate Federal Witness Protection. She is being transferred to the High-Risk Obstetric Care Unit at Saint Jude Federal Research Hospital."
Dr. Hayes tried to slip out the side door, but two federal marshals caught his arms, slamming him flat against the wall.
CLICK. CLICK.
"Dr. Jonathan Hayes," a marshal announced. "You are under arrest for Medical Malpractice, Forgery of Federal Documents, and Unlawful Embryo Implantation."
Dr. Hayes wept hysterical, groveling pleas as he was dragged out of the room.
Marcus Vance stepped up to Harrison, locking the heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists behind his back.
Harrison didn't look at the marshals. He kept his storm-gray eyes locked on my face as he was escorted out of the room.
"I will find you, Chloe!" Harrison shouted back through the corridor, his voice echoing with terrifying, unhinged obsession. "You are MY wife! Those are MY babies!"
I sat on the medical table, shivering under the white blanket, as Bridget Colton gently wrapped a dark wool coat over my shoulders.
"You're safe now, Chloe," Bridget promised softly, her hazel eyes shining with deep, protective warmth. "The federal transport is waiting outside."

Tears of profound, weightless relief tracked down my cheeks as I rested my hands over my swollen belly, feeling three tiny, resilient heartbeats kicking softly against my palms.
"We survived, my sweet babies," I whispered into the quiet room. "We survived."
