Chapter 6 - The Festival of LightIn late September 2026, nine months after our victory, the grand ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Boston was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Evelyn Varenna Maternal & Maritime Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated my tall, radiant figure, was me.
Around my neck hung my late father Arthur Bennett's vintage silver signet pendant, my dark hair falling in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.
Beside the stage stood my mother, looking healthy and radiant in a navy lace gown, alongside Bridget Colton and Marcus Vance.
And standing on my right, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, holding our baby son Arthur in his broad arms, was Luca Varenna.
Luca stepped up to the microphone beside me, wrapping his broad, warm arm around my waist, his voice echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Twelve years ago, I was told I was hollow inside, trapped behind a lie," Luca announced to the silent room, his gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me and our son. "And on a cold autumn night eleven weeks into our marriage, the bravest woman I have ever met revealed the truth... bringing my heart, my heir, and my entire life back to the light."
Luca held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Chairwoman, my savior, and the queen of my heart: Donna Evelyn Bennett-Varenna!"
"To Evelyn!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
