Chapter 3 - The Assembly at the Harbor TowerAt 10:00 AM the following morning, the soaring, glass-walled executive boardroom atop the forty-story Varenna Harbor Tower in downtown Boston was packed to absolute capacity.

Over fifty senior syndicate capos, commercial logistics directors, high-society attorneys, and corporate shareholders sat around the massive forty-foot carved walnut table beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Sitting at the head of the table, wearing a tailored navy suit, holding a silver-headed cane, was sixty-two-year-old Dominic Varenna—Luca’s arrogant, greedy uncle. Beside him sat Dr. Richard Vale, holding a leather briefcase, looking smug and triumphant.

"Gentlemen," Dominic announced into the central microphone, his voice dripping with condescending authority, "today we finalize the permanent transfer of Luca’s remaining maritime voting proxies to my private holding firm, due to his permanent inability to produce a direct biological heir under the 1988 Varenna Charter—"

BOOM!

The heavy double oak doors of the executive boardroom were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!

The chatter of fifty corporate executives vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.

Walking down the central red carpet, flanked by Marcus Vance and six armed Vance Security operatives, was me.

I wore a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk suit that celebrated my graceful figure, my dark hair falling in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with an unshakeable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.

And walking right beside me, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke suit, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his storm-gray eyes radiating an untouchable, sovereign power... was Luca Varenna.

Dominic Varenna dropped his silver-headed cane.

The heavy metal clattered flat against the hardwood floorboard, echoing through the silent room, as his face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green.

Dr. Richard Vance stumbled backward out of his chair, knocking over his water glass, his jaw sagging open in utter, catatonic horror.

"L-LUCA...?! EVELYN?!" Dominic stammered, taking two panicked steps backward against the table. "WHAT IS THIS ILL-MANNERED INTERRUPTING?! THIS IS AN EXECUTIVE PROXY MEETING!"

"The meeting is over, Uncle," Luca announced flatly, his deep, gravelly baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the room's temperature to zero. "And so is your twelve-year fraud."

Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Dominic’s trembling hands:

REVOCATION OF PROXIES: Certified medical certificates signed by three independent federal neuro-urologists proving Luca Varenna is 100% biologically fertile, accompanied by early pregnancy confirmation for Evelyn Varenna.

ARREST WARRANTS: Federal arrest warrants served on Dominic Varenna and Dr. Richard Vale for Attempted Murder, Medical Conspiracy, and $140 Million Interstate Wire Fraud.

THE BENNETT TRUST ENFORCEMENT: Legal injunction confirming Chairwoman Evelyn Bennett-Varenna as legal holder of twenty-five percent common controlling equity over the Boston Commercial Berths.

"WHAT IS THIS?!" Dominic shrieked, his manicured hands shaking furiously as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "THIS IS FABRICATED! SHE WAS A BROKE GIRL WITH A DYING MOTHER!"

"She is my wife, Dominic," Luca corrected deadpan, his eyes flashing with a cold, lethal fire. "And she owns your shipping lanes."

Dominic thrashed and wept hysterical, groveling pleas as marshals dragged him and Dr. Vale out of the Harbor Tower in total, public disgrace, surrounded by news cameras capturing their complete downfall for the morning news.
