Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Terracotta CrownIn late September 2026, two years after that painful night in New York, the grand auditorium of the Plaza Hotel in Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Claire Bennett Heritage & Ceramic Integrity Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
On a private velvet pedestal near the presentation podium rested a beautifully glazed terracotta vase handcrafted by my own hands, depicting a mother, father, and child beneath a constellation of golden stars.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, holding two-year-old Leo in his arms, was Alexander Moretti.
Beside him stood Donna Claire Bennett-Moretti, looking breathtaking in a floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated her graceful figure, her hazel eyes glowing with complete happiness.
Around my neck hung Alexander’s restored silver signet pendant.
Alexander adjusted the microphone, his deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Two years ago, a dark lie almost stole the greatest gift of my life, leaving my wife to mold clay in the rain while I lived in a sunless mansion," Alexander announced to the silent room, his storm-gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me and Leo. "And on a rainy afternoon in South Carolina, the bravest woman I know shattered a traitor's conspiracy, showed me our son, and brought my entire world back to the light."
Alexander held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Chairwoman, my savior, and the queen of my heart: Donna Claire Bennett-Moretti!"
"To Claire!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
