Chapter 3 - The Assembly at the Federal ConcourseAt 10:00 AM the following morning, the grand mahogany assembly hall atop the Charleston Federal Center was packed to absolute capacity.

Over three hundred prominent real estate magnates, shipping executives, municipal judges, and syndicate capos gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers for the annual East Coast Logistics & Cultural Trust Assembly.
Sitting near the head of the raised executive table, wearing an expensive silk dress, holding a silver pen, was thirty-two-year-old Sophia Reynolds. Beside her sat her corrupt father, Julian Reynolds, smirking as they prepared to sign corporate buyout documents to liquidate the Moretti Heritage Trust.
"Gentlemen!" Julian announced smoothly into the central microphone, his voice dripping with false authority, "today we finalize the administrative acquisition of the Moretti Maritime Equity Trust due to Don Alexander's prolonged domestic absence—"
BOOM!
The heavy double oak doors of the executive assembly hall were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!
The chatter of three hundred high-society guests vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.
Walking down the central red-carpeted aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four armed federal marshals, was Alexander Moretti.
He wore a dark bespoke charcoal suit, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, radiating an untouchable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.
And walking right beside him, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk suit that celebrated her graceful figure, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, holding her fourteen-month-old son Leo securely in a front silk sling, was Donna Claire Bennett-Moretti.
She wore her ten-carat emerald signet ring proudly on her finger, her posture regal, her presence dominating the entire room.
Sophia Reynolds dropped her silver pen.
CRASH!
The heavy metal pen clattered flat against the mahogany table, rolling onto the floor as her face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green. Julian Reynolds stood up so fast he knocked his leather chair backward against the window.
"S-SOPHIA...?! ALEXANDER?! CLARA?!" Julian stammered, taking two panicked steps backward. "WHAT IS THIS ILL-MANNERED INTERRUPTING?! YOU DIVORCED HER TWO YEARS AGO!"
"She never signed the final court decree, Julian," Alexander announced flatly, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the temperature to zero. "And she owns your entire existence."
Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Julian Reynolds’s trembling hands:
TOTAL TRUST RECOVERY: Certified federal enforcement of the Moretti Trust Deeds, transferring 100% controlling equity directly to Chairwoman Claire Bennett-Moretti and her son Leo Moretti.
ARREST WARRANTS: International arrest warrants served on Julian Reynolds and Sophia Reynolds for Attempted Extortion, Child Abduction Conspiracy, Forgery, and $30 Million Wire Fraud.
IMMEDIATE EVICTION: Total forfeiture of all personal properties, luxury vehicles, and bank accounts registered under Reynolds Global.
"THIS IS UNLAWFUL!" Sophia shrieked, thrashing wildly as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "ALEXANDER, I LOVED YOU FOR TWENTY YEARS! YOU CAN'T SACRIFICE ME FOR A CERAMIC GIRL!"
"You didn't love me, Sophia," Alexander corrected deadpan, stepping beside my chair, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around my waist, pulling my frame flush against his solid side. "You loved power. And my wife is the only queen of this empire."
