Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden StarsIn late September 2026, ten months after that unforgettable afternoon in the cardboard spaceship, the grand observatory ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Isabella & Sophie Moretti Heritage & Astro-Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers and glowing ceiling constellations.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, my broad six-foot-four frame squared, my handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was me.

Beside me stood Donna Isabella Moretti, looking breathtaking in a floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown, alongside Emily Carter in an ivory silk gown, and five-year-old Sophie, who wore a custom white dress with silver astronaut boots, holding her plush bear proudly.

Around Isabella’s neck hung the restored silver crescent moon pendant with its three diamonds and golden star.

I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Ten months ago, a brilliant young woman put on a silver costume, built a cardboard spaceship in my daughter's bedroom, and saved my family's soul," I announced to the silent room, my gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable emotion as I looked down at Isabella, Emily, and Sophie. "And on that afternoon, a tiny voice inside a plastic helmet shattered a traitor's conspiracy, brought my wife back from the dark, and showed us that true love reaches beyond the stars."

I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Donna, our savior Emily, and our brave little astronaut: Isabella, Emily, and Sophie Moretti!"

"To Isabella, Emily, and Sophie!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
