Chapter 3 - The Assembly at the Grand BallroomAt 9:00 AM the following morning, the grand mahogany dining hall atop the Romano Estate was set for a lavish high-society breakfast beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Sitting at the long thirty-foot carved oak table, wearing expensive designer dresses and tailored suits, were Massimo's grandmother, Donna Carmela Romano, his mother, Lucia, alongside sixty-year-old Victor Vitali and his arrogant twenty-four-year-old daughter, Adriana Vitali.
Adriana wore a $15,000 silk Chanel suit, her diamond rings catching the light as she smirked over her espresso cup.
"Really, Carmela," Victor Vitali announced smoothly into the room, his voice dripping with false warmth, "it is disgraceful that Massimo delayed our corporate merger signing yesterday because of some silly housemaid wandering into his quarters—"
BOOM!
The heavy double oak doors of the grand dining hall were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!
The chatter of the high-society guests vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.
Walking down the central marble aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four armed federal marshals, was Massimo Romano.
He wore an immaculate charcoal bespoke suit, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, radiating an untouchable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.
And walking right beside him, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk suit that celebrated her graceful figure, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, her hazel eyes burning with absolute, sovereign victory... was Donna Sophie Miller-Romano.
Around her neck hung the restored ten-carat emerald signet pendant of the Romano Family Trust, her posture regal, her presence dominating the entire room.
Adriana Vitali dropped her porcelain espresso cup.
CRASH!
The delicate china shattered flat against the marble table, splashing coffee over her Chanel suit as her face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green. Victor Vitali stood up so fast he knocked his leather chair backward against the wall.
"A-ADRIANA...?! MASSIMO?! SOPHIE?!" Victor stammered, taking two panicked steps backward against the buffet stand. "WHAT IS THIS ILL-MANNERED INTERRUPTING?! SHE IS JUST A PENNILESS MAID!"
"She isn't a penniless maid, Victor," Massimo announced flatly, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the temperature to zero. "She is the Executive Chairwoman of the Romano-Miller Heritage Trust... and the sole owner of your entire shipping network."
Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Victor Vitali’s trembling hands:
TOTAL MARITIME RECOVERY: Certified federal enforcement of the Romano Trust Deeds, transferring thirty percent controlling common stock equity directly to Chairwoman Sophie Miller-Romano.
ARREST WARRANTS: International arrest warrants served on Victor Vitali, Adriana Vitali, and Elena for Premeditated Extortion, Framing a Syndicate Leader, Wire Fraud, and $100 Million Contraband Sabotage.
IMMEDIATE EVICTION: Total forfeiture of all personal properties, luxury vehicles, and bank accounts registered under Vitali Logistics.
"THIS IS UNLAWFUL!" Adriana shrieked, thrashing wildly as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "MASSIMO, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO MARRY ME! YOU CAN'T CHOOSE A SERVANT OVER MY FAMILY!"
"I didn't choose a servant, Adriana," Massimo corrected deadpan, stepping beside my chair, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around my waist, pulling my frame flush against his solid side. "I chose my queen. And she owns your life."
