Chapter 5 - The Unbroken NameSix months later, on a clear, golden afternoon in late September, the grand oceanfront terrace was lit by hundreds of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

A small, private wedding gathering of fifty close friends, security staff, and trusted associates sat in elegant white wooden chairs set up along the stone patio overlooking the dark, peaceful Atlantic Ocean.

I stood near a white floral arch wearing an immaculate black tuxedo, my dark hair neatly styled, my heart hammering against my ribs with an intense, joyful anticipation I had never felt in my entire life.

Beside me stood Marco, wearing a fresh suit, holding two small gold velvet bands.

The soft violin music shifted into a beautiful, flowing melody.

The glass doors of the terrace swung open.

Mara walked out onto the stone patio.

She wore a breathtaking, simple ivory lace gown that caught the moonlight like liquid silver. Her dark hair was styled with fresh jasmine flowers, and her green eyes shone with tears of pure, unadulterated joy.

Walking in front of her, wearing four tiny black tuxedos that matched mine, were Milo, Mason, Max, and Micah—proudly carrying velvet pillows holding our wedding bands.

When Mara reached the arch, I stepped forward, taking both of her warm hands into mine, my broad palms wrapping around her fingers with absolute, eternal devotion.

The four boys stood in a neat row beside my leg, looking up at both of us with bright, radiant smiles that lit up the night sky.

"Who gives this woman to be married to this man?" the minister asked warmly.

Milo, Mason, Max, and Micah jumped up on their tiptoes, raising their small hands high in the air in unison. "We do! We give Mom to Dad!"

The guests let out a warm, affectionate laugh that filled the quiet ocean air.

I looked down into Mara's green eyes, my voice trembling slightly as I spoke my vows.

"Six years ago, Mara," I said, my baritone thick with raw emotion, "I lost you in the shadows of a lie. I spent six long years believing my heart was buried in the dark. But you survived the cold, you protected our four sons, and you brought them back into my life. You didn't just save our children, Mara... you saved my soul. I promise to love, protect, and honor you and our sons for all the days of my life."

I pulled a small, flawless ten-carat emerald-cut diamond ring from the pillow and slipped it onto her finger.

Mara looked up into my eyes, her tears spilling softly over her lashes, resting her hand over my heart.

"I love you, Dominic," she whispered softly. "And I promise to love you and our boys for all the days of my life."

"By the authority vested in me," the minister smiled, "I now pronounce you husband and wife."

I pulled Mara into my arms, lifting her effortlessly off her feet, kissing her with a deep, sweet, consuming passion that sealed our lives together under the open sky, while our four sons cheered, wrapping their small arms around both of our legs.
