Chapter 6 - A NEW PROMISEKhloe’s heart skipped a beat as she stared at the simple, elegant black box resting on the oak wood.

"Gabriel..." she breathed, her hand trembling slightly as she reached out to touch it.
"Open it," he said softly.
She lifted the lid. Inside was not a massive, ostentatious diamond meant to impress reporters or establish dominance like the ring Julian had given Dalia.
It was a delicate band made of raw, unpolished gold, inlaid with tiny, radiant emeralds—the stone representing healing, rebirth, and new beginnings. Inside the band was a simple inscription: My equal. My home.
"I didn't buy this at an auction to make a statement to the press," Gabriel said, taking the box and sinking gracefully to one knee beside her chair. "I had it crafted by an artisan in Tuscany, near the olive grove where you spent your first quiet summer after leaving the noise behind."
Tears sprang to Khloe's eyes, warm and healing.
"Khloe," Gabriel continued, holding her gaze with absolute sincerity and devotion. "You are the most powerful, brilliant, and resilient woman I have ever known. You don't need my money, you don't need my status, and you certainly don't need me to complete you. But if you will let me, I want to spend the rest of my life standing by your side—loving you, supporting your dreams, and raising our child in a house filled with truth and respect."
Khloe let out a shaky breath, laughter mixing with her tears as she slid out of her chair and knelt down on the rug right in front of him, meeting him eye-to-eye.
"Yes," she whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Yes, Gabriel. A thousand times yes."
He slipped the gold band onto her finger, hugging her tightly against his chest, holding her and their unborn baby in a protective embrace that felt like the safest place in the world.
Two months later, in a private seaside garden in Amalfi, Italy, away from cameras, press releases, and corporate politics, Khloe and Gabriel were married.

Only twenty people attended—close friends, trusted mentors, and Khloe’s mother, who wept tears of pure happiness as she watched her daughter walk down an aisle lined with white roses and lavender, radiant in a simple lace gown that celebrated her full, eight-month pregnancy.
There were no speeches about dominance or control. There were only vows of partnership, patience, and unyielding love.
