Chapter 7 - The Dawn We ChoseSix months later.

The autumn air had turned crisp and golden, painting the trees of Central Park in brilliant shades of amber and rust.
The glass-walled terrace of our new estate overlooking the Hudson River was filled with laughter, the soft clinking of champagne glasses, and the joyful chatter of family, friends, and colleagues who had gathered to celebrate our wedding.
There were no grand cathedrals, no oppressive media cameras, and no forced social niceties. Just an intimate, beautiful gathering of people who loved us for who we truly were.
I stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the bridal suite, adjusting the straps of my simple, elegant ivory silk gown.
The door opened softly, and Maya and Elena—now toddling on unsteady little legs in matching miniature white dresses with pink satin bows—waddled into the room, babbling happily as they reached up to grab the hem of my dress.
I laughed, kneeling down to scoop both of them into my arms, burying my face in their soft, sweet-smelling hair.
“Are my favorite girls ready?”
Elias walked into the room, looking breathtakingly handsome in a classic black tuxedo. He stopped a few feet away, his dark eyes shining with an emotion so deep and fierce it took my breath away.
He walked over, kneeling down beside us on the rug, wrapping his arms around all three of us in one warm, unbreakable embrace.
“You know,” Elias murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of my head, “if someone had told me on a freezing night under an overpass near the Hudson River that I would find my entire world sitting in the dirt... I would have called them crazy.”
I smiled, resting my head against his shoulder while Maya and Elena giggled, patting his face with their tiny hands.
“You didn't just find us, Elias,” I whispered, looking out the window toward the shining river where the city lights were just beginning to flicker on against the evening sky. “You gave us a future.”
May you like
“No, Ava,” Elias corrected softly, pulling me closer. “You gave us a family. And nobody will ever take that away from us again.”
We stood up together, holding hands with our daughters between us, and walked out onto the sunlit terrace to greet our forever.
