Chapter 5 - The Global HorizonSix months later, London was bathed in the crisp, golden light of late autumn.

From her corner office on the sixtieth floor of the Whitlock International Tower in the heart of the financial district, Avery looked out over the Thames. The skyline of London was a testament to human engineering and architectural brilliance—much of it now influenced or directly funded by Whitlock Global.
Her life had undergone a breathtaking metamorphosis.
She was no longer the quiet, hidden architectural consultant hiding her true identity behind a modest pseudonym. She was celebrated globally as a visionary industrialist, a brilliant philanthropist, and a fierce corporate leader who commanded absolute respect in every boardroom from New York to Tokyo.
Her chief of staff, a sharp and loyal strategist named Clara, knocked gently on the frosted glass door before entering.
"Avery, the international architectural summit panel is assembled in the main auditorium," Clara reported respectfully. "The trade ministers from Germany and France are waiting for your keynote presentation on sustainable urban infrastructure."
"Thank you, Clara. I'll be right down," Avery smiled, closing her laptop.
As she stood up and adjusted the lapels of her custom charcoal-gray blazer, her eyes drifted to a small, unassuming frame resting on her bookshelf.
It didn't contain a stock certificate or a corporate award. It contained a single, torn piece of French lace—a scrap from the custom-made wedding dress she had ripped apart in the stairwell of the Crystal Meridian Hotel.
It served not as a reminder of pain, but as a monument to her rebirth. She had entered that ballroom a submissive fiancée; she had walked out its sole conqueror.
The lesson had been harsh, but the result was absolute freedom.

As she walked down the glass-lined hallway toward the auditorium, the heavy oak doors opened automatically. The applause that greeted her wasn't polite or obligatory; it was thunderous, genuine, and filled with deep admiration.
Avery took her place at the podium, looked out across a sea of global leaders, and began to speak with a voice that commanded the world.
