Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeAt 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of indigo, gold, and deep sapphire, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

Three-year-old Noah ran up the marble steps of the terrace, throwing his small arms around Vincent’s leg and my dress, giggling happily as Vincent scooped him up into his broad chest.
Vincent held our eldest son securely against his broad shoulder while wrapping his free arm around my waist, pulling my body flush against his under the twinkling lights.
Leo raised his champagne glass toward our table, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the quiet grounds.
"To Don Vincent, Donna Claire, Noah, Ethan, and Oliver Moretti!" Leo toasted with deep, genuine pride. "The sovereign family who built an empire with unbroken strength, truth, and eternal love!"
"To the Moretti family!" the entire terrace echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, dozens of crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
Across the dark, sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan, brilliant bursts of gold, sapphire, and silver fireworks exploded into the night sky, illuminating the smiling faces of our guests gathered on the lawn below.
There were no corrupt syndicates threatening children in dark hallways. There were no fake divorce papers signed at quiet tables. There were no secrets separating our hearts.

The cold, distant Don was dead forever. The sovereign father and husband had claimed his true home.
And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved every inch of my body and soul, holding our three sons safe in our hands, I knew that my life, my heart, and my family were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
