Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden RoseIn late September 2026, ten months after that terrifying night at the bar, the grand auditorium of the Plaza Hotel in Houston was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Clara Reyes Heritage & Worker Integrity Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated her graceful figure, was Donna Clara Reyes-Marshall.
Around her neck hung her late mother’s restored silver signet pendant, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, her brown eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.
Beside the stage stood Isabel Marshall, Bridget Colton, and Marcus Vance.
And standing on her right, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was Victor Marshall.
Victor stepped up to the microphone beside me, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around my waist, his deep baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Ten months ago, a brave young woman walked into my bar looking for a job, and saved my soul," Victor announced to the silent room, his storm-gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me. "And when the dark came to her door, she shattered a cartel's conspiracy, claimed her true name, and brought my entire world back to the light."
Victor held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To Clara!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
