Chapter 6 - The Fall of James MillerJames Miller fell back into his leather chair, his hands shaking so violently his expensive gold watch rattled against his wrist.

"Arthur... please!" Miller stammered, tears of wild, sweat-slicked panic streaming down his face. "This is a misunderstanding! We can settle out of court! I'll pay her fifty thousand dollars!"
Arthur leaned over the table, his storm-gray eyes locking onto Miller's panicked face with cold, weightless disdain.
"You won't pay her fifty thousand dollars, James," Arthur spoke softly, every word dropped like an unbroken truth. "You will surrender five million dollars in immediate wrongful-death restitution paid directly from your private accounts to The David Miller Family Trust."
"FIVE MILLION?!" Miller shrieked, his voice cracking into a high, pathetic squeak. "THAT WILL BANKRUPT MY PRIVATE HOLDINGS!"
"Then you had better start liquidating your sports cars, James," Arthur noted deadpan. "Because if you refuse, my legal team will file a twenty-million-dollar civil suit that will strip every brick from your name."
Two Federal Marshals stepped forward, locking heavy steel handcuffs around James Miller's wrists behind his back.
CLICK. CLICK.
"James Miller," the lead marshal announced flatly. "You are under arrest for Felony Evidence Tampering and Corporate Manslaughter."
Miller wept like a broken child as he was forced out through the double doors in total, public disgrace, surrounded by news cameras that captured his complete downfall for the entire city to see.

Maya stood beside Arthur on the stone plaza outside the building, looking up at the sky with tears of pure, weightless victory cutting clean tracks down her cheeks.
"He will never hurt anyone again, Maya," Arthur promised gently, taking her hand into his broad, warm palm. "Your husband’s memory is honored."
