Chapter 5 - The Confrontation at the TowerOn Monday morning at 10:00 AM, the glass-and-steel boardroom on the twentieth floor of Miller Construction Towers in downtown Lancaster was filled with ten executive partners and corporate lawyers.

James Miller—a fifty-two-year-old arrogant, heavy-set developer wearing a expensive designer suit—sat at the head of the long mahogany table, reviewing quarterly profit margins with a cold, greedy smirk.
BOOM!
The heavy double oak doors of the boardroom were thrown open with a sharp, echoing thud.
Stepping into the room, flanked by four broad-shouldered private security operators in dark suits and lead litigation attorney Rachel Hayes, was Arthur Vance.
Walking proudly beside Arthur, wearing an immaculate tailored charcoal silk suit, her dark hair styled in an elegant knot, her posture tall, calm, and sovereign, was Maya.
James Miller jumped up from his leather chair, his face contorting in sudden, annoyed anger. "Arthur Vance?! What the hell is the meaning of this intrusion?! We are in the middle of a private board meeting!"
Arthur walked cleanly up the length of the mahogany table, stopping two feet from James Miller, his six-foot-two frame radiating a terrifying, absolute authority that dropped the room's temperature below freezing.
"James," Arthur spoke softly, every word dropped into the quiet room like a heavy slab of granite. "Four months ago, one of your senior carpenters—David Miller—died on your 5th Street site due to gross OSHA safety violations."
James Miller scoffed, waving his hand dismissively. "That was an unfortunate industrial accident, Arthur! The worker failed to follow safety protocols, and his estate was denied benefits by our insurance carrier—"
CRASH!
Arthur slammed a thick Manila binder bound by red judicial seals flat onto the mahogany table right in front of Miller's face.
"That worker’s widow," Arthur roared, pointing a firm finger at Maya, "was forced onto the street with her seven-year-old child! She was sleeping in a frozen station wagon behind a dumpster on Christmas Eve because your firm forged the site safety logs!"
The ten board members stared at the red seals on the binder in total, speech-bound horror.

James Miller’s arrogant face turned an ugly, paper-white shade of green. Sweat burst across his forehead, soaking his designer collar. "You... you audited our site logs?!"
"My legal team spent forty-eight hours dismantling your entire corporate infrastructure, James," Rachel Hayes announced flatly, stepping forward with three Federal Marshals. "And the District Attorney has just issued formal indictments for Corporate Manslaughter, Insurance Fraud, and Evidence Tampering."
