Chapter 7 - A New HorizonSix months later, the private gardens of the Prescott estate in Austin were bathed in the vibrant, golden hues of an early Texas autumn.

The air was crisp and carried the sweet scent of blooming jasmine and wet earth. A small, intimate gathering of trusted friends, loyal executives, and close family members stood beneath a sweeping wrought-iron gazebo draped in white roses and ivy.

At the front of the altar stood Adrian, dressed in a sharp, tailored charcoal suit, his gaze fixed entirely on the stone pathway leading down toward the gardens.

When the string quartet began playing a soft, melodic acoustic arrangement, a collective hush fell over the guests.

Elena walked down the stone steps wearing a stunning, elegant ivory silk dress that moved with effortless grace. Her dark hair was styled in soft, cascading waves, and her smile radiated a quiet, unshakeable confidence that came from knowing she had built her life entirely with her own hands.

Walking beside her, holding her hand with clumsy, joyful steps, was little Lily, wearing a matching miniature flower-girl dress and scattering pink rose petals across the pavement with wild, theatrical enthusiasm.

As Elena reached the altar, Adrian stepped forward, his eyes shimmering with a depth of emotion that no boardroom negotiation or corporate victory could ever replicate. He took her hand in his, lifting her fingers to his lips for a gentle, lingering kiss.

“You look breathtaking,” Adrian whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

“You don't look so bad yourself, Mr. Prescott,” Elena teased softly, her eyes sparkling with happiness.

Off to the side of the garden, standing near the edge of the stone terrace, Marcus leaned against a marble pillar, holding a flute of champagne and watching the ceremony with a rare, approving smile on his face. The corporate wars, the stalkers, and the bitter betrayal of the past felt like a lifetime ago—a distant nightmare that had only served to guide them toward each other.

As the minister pronounced them husband and wife, a cheer rose up from the small gathering, followed by the joyful laughter of children running across the manicured lawn.

Adrian pulled Elena into his arms, his lips meeting hers in a tender, passionate kiss that sealed not just a marriage, but a shared destiny forged out of the wreckage of their pasts.

Later that evening, as the sun dipped below the Texas horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of violet and amber, Elena stood on the private balcony of the estate, looking out over the sprawling landscape.

A familiar warmth wrapped around her shoulders as Adrian stepped up behind her, sliding his arms around her waist and resting his chin gently on her shoulder.

“Penny for your thoughts, Mrs. Prescott?” he murmured against her neck.

Elena leaned back into his embrace, closing her eyes and feeling the absolute peace of a future that belonged entirely to them.

“I was just thinking,” she smiled softly, turning slightly in his arms to look up into his eyes, “that sitting next to a complete stranger on a crowded airplane was the best mistake I ever made.”

Adrian laughed, pulling her closer against his chest.

“Not a mistake, Elena,” he whispered, kissing the top of her head. “Destiny.”
