Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeAt 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the Boston skyline, painting the sky in brilliant shades of rose, gold, and deep sapphire, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

Lily and Emma were fast asleep inside their second-floor suite, wrapped in their cozy blankets, their breathing soft, peaceful, and unbroken.

I stood near the stone balustrade with Adrian, looking out at the sparkling lights of the city reflecting off the calm water below.

Adrian wrapped his broad, warm arm around my waist, pulling me flush against his solid frame, resting his chin comfortably against my temple.

"Look at the sky, Claire," Adrian murmured softly into my hair.

I looked up into the vast, clear night sky—where a brilliant constellation of bright, silver stars shone clear and unbroken above the harbor.

"The stars aren't hidden behind winter clouds anymore, Adrian," I whispered softly, turning in his arms to press a sweet kiss against his jawline.

"No, my love," Adrian promised, his voice thick with a raw, eternal devotion as he leaned down to press his lips against mine in a deep, sweet, unhurried kiss that sealed our promise for all the years to come. "They are right here with us."

There were no feverish nightmares keeping us awake in the dark. There were no toxic traitors standing in cold foyers. There were no tears swallowed in quiet rooms.

The lonely, heartbroken nanny was dead forever. The sovereign matriarch had claimed her throne.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved me, holding his daughters' future safe in my hands, I knew that my life, my heart, and my future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
