Chapter 7 - The Masterpiece RebornSix months later, the front page of the New York Times style section featured a full-page spread that sent shockwaves through the global fashion community.

It wasn't about a society wedding or a high-profile corporate merger. It was the grand opening of Atelier Moretti—a luxury haute couture fashion house located in the heart of SoHo, owned and operated entirely by Elena Moretti.
I stood in the center of the sunlit flagship studio, surrounded by bolts of Italian silk, sketches pinned to corkboards, and the low, steady hum of sewing machines operated by a team of talented designers I had hired myself.
The front window displayed our debut collection: a series of breathtaking, avant-garde gowns that celebrated strength, resilience, and uncompromised beauty. Right in the center, resting on an illuminated velvet mannequin, was the centerpiece of the collection—a reimagined version of the very dress that had been destroyed six months ago.
Only this time, the torn satin had been transformed into an intricate mosaic of hand-stitched silver thread and midnight lace, designed not to please a cold family, but to honor a survivor.
The brass bell above the studio door chimed softly.
I looked up from my worktable, expecting a delivery or a client.
Instead, Dante walked through the door. He wasn't wearing his usual corporate armor; he wore a simple black cashmere sweater, looking devastatingly handsome as his dark eyes scanned the bright, bustling studio before landing on me.
He walked across the polished wooden floor, ignoring the admiring glances of the staff, and stopped right in front of my worktable.
"You're working late again," he noted, a faint, affectionate smile touching his lips.
"An artist doesn't watch the clock, Mr. Moretti," I teased, setting down my measuring tape and walking into his open arms.
Dante wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me effortlessly against his chest as I buried my face in his shoulder, breathing in the familiar scent of cedarwood and rain. He pressed a warm, lingering kiss into my hair.
"The board meeting for the new acquisition wrapped up early," he murmured against my neck. "I came to collect my wife."
I smiled, pulling back just enough to look into his eyes, where the fierce, protective kingpin softened into the man who loved me unconditionally. On my left ring finger, a custom-designed diamond ring—flanked by two deep, brilliant sapphires—sparkled brilliantly under the studio lights.
"Your wife is busy running an empire of her own," I whispered playfully.

"I know," Dante smiled, his dark eyes gleaming with pride. "And I wouldn't have it any other way."
He leaned down, capturing my lips in a slow, deep kiss that made the rest of the world fade away entirely. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the spring sun bathed the bustling streets of Manhattan in golden light, but inside, wrapped in the arms of the man who had burned down my past to give me a future, I knew the story was only just beginning.
