Chapter 3 - The Legal BlitzkriegBy 10:00 a.m., the war had moved from the living room to the high-stakes battleground of the Dallas County civil courts and corporate registries.

Inside a sleek, glass-walled conference room on the fiftieth floor of the Bank of America Plaza, Julian Vance—Alexander’s chief legal bulldog and senior partner at Vance & Associates—laid out a series of thick manila folders across the polished mahogany table.
Sitting across from them was Thomas Greer, the Robles family attorney, whose hands were visibly sweating as he scanned the injunction notices spread out before him.
“This is insane!” Greer stammered, adjusting his tie. “You can’t freeze corporate accounts based on domestic disputes! These are separate commercial entities—Robles Holdings, C&J Real Estate, North Texas Logistics—they have nothing to do with a marriage disagreement!”
Alexander sat at the head of the table, his arms crossed over his chest, staring coldly at the opposing lawyer.
“Everything Carmen and Javier Robles own was built on a foundation of fraudulent shell corporations, tax evasion, and unregistered kickbacks,” Alexander said, his voice flat and clinical. “My firm spent the last four hours auditing your primary balance sheets. We found enough federal discrepancies to put Carmen away in a federal penitentiary for the next twenty years.”
Greer swallowed hard, sliding a terrified glance toward Javier, who had been dragged into the meeting room by Alexander’s security team twenty minutes prior. Javier looked like a broken man, his tailored suit wrinkled, his hair unbrushed, staring blankly at the floor.
“Mr. Vance... please,” Javier whispered, his voice cracking. “Let’s talk. This is between me and Sofia. We can annul the marriage quietly. We can walk away—no lawsuits, no police, no prison.”
Alexander stood up slowly, leaning over the table until his face was inches from Javier’s.
“Walk away?” Alexander repeated, his voice dropping into a lethal register. “You locked my daughter in a hotel suite while your mother beat her forty times. You stood outside the door and coached her abuser on where to strike so the bruises wouldn't show on camera. You don't get to walk away, Javier. You don't get a quiet annulment. You get total, unmitigated destruction.”
Julian slid a single piece of paper across the table toward Greer and Javier.
“What is this?” Greer asked, squinting at the text.
“It’s a complete confession and asset forfeiture agreement,” Julian stated smoothly. “Carmen signs over all commercial properties, residential holdings, and her majority share in Robles Holdings to a blind trust controlled entirely by Sofia Vance. In exchange, we hold off on filing federal criminal charges for conspiracy, extortion, and physical assault for exactly twenty-four hours.”
Javier looked up in sheer horror. “Mom will never sign that! That’s everything! That’s our entire life’s work!”

“Then your mother can spend her golden years behind razor wire at a federal correctional facility in Fort Worth,” Alexander replied coldly, buttoning his suit jacket. “You have until 3:00 p.m. to deliver that signed document to my office. If it’s even one minute late, I personally hand these evidence files to the U.S. Attorney.”
Alexander turned on his heel and walked out of the conference room, leaving Javier and his attorney staring at the papers like death warrants.
