Chapter 7 - The Vow in the StormThree months later, the harbor in Boston was bathed in the warm, golden light of a September afternoon.

The diner on Clement Street had been permanently closed, replaced by a sleek, upscale foundation office managed by Vivien—funded quietly by Damian, but built entirely on her own terms, dedicated to helping single mothers escape abusive or dangerous environments.
On the private stone terrace of the Duca estate overlooking the Atlantic, a small, elegant gathering of close friends and trusted family celebrated a very different kind of wedding.
There were no flashing cameras, no mob bosses, and no hidden enemies.
Vivien wore a simple, breathtaking ivory silk dress that swept the stone patio. Her dark hair fell in soft waves around her shoulders, and her smile was radiant, entirely unburdened by fear.
Standing beneath an archway of white roses, Lily—wearing a matching flower-girl dress—handed the platinum bands to Damian.
Damian knelt down, placing a small kiss on Lily's forehead before standing up to face Vivien. He slipped the simple gold band onto her finger, his blue-gray eyes shining with absolute, unfiltered devotion.
"I bought empires, built fortresses, and waged wars," Damian said softly, his voice carrying clearly across the terrace. "But the only thing that ever truly mattered to me was the woman who walked out of a diner and taught me what it means to be alive."
Vivien smiled, her eyes bright with happy tears as she slid the matching band onto his finger. "You took your time finding me, Damian Duca."

"I told you," he murmured, pulling her flush against him as the guests applauded around them. "I was just making sure I could keep you safe forever."
He lowered his head and kissed her—deeply, passionately, and without a single shadow left to hide in.
