Chapter 6 - The Fall of the DonI didn't stop at the foot of the table. I walked straight up to the head of the room, stopping three feet from Dorian, setting an encrypted tablet flat onto the mahogany wood.

With a single tap of my thumb, the screen illuminated with certified corporate ledgers, bank records, and federal filings:

SOLE OWNERSHIP VERIFICATION: Proving Vance Transport equity holds fifty-two percent of all primary maritime assets in Providence and Boston.

FEDERAL FORGERY INDICTMENTS: Issued against Dorian Kincaid for the illegal transfer of the Beacon Hill brownstone.

EX-PARTE DIVORCE FILING: Requesting seventy percent of all marital liquidity, full asset recovery, and the permanent revocation of the Kincaid name.

The twelve syndicate captains stood up in absolute shock, scanning the red numbers on the screen.

"My God..." Captain Moretti whispered, looking at Dorian with pure disdain. "You forged your wife's signature while she was in surgery? You endangered our entire shipping network for a communications director?!"

"Victor, listen to me!" Dorian bellowed, turning frantically toward his council. "She's bluffing! I am the Don of Providence!"

"You were the Don of Providence while my family's money funded your docks, Dorian," I spoke cleanly into the quiet room. My voice carried an unyielding, velvet power that echoed off the high ceiling. "Without my mother's assets and my father's fleets... you are just a man in an expensive suit standing in a rented room."

Dorian looked at me—taking in my midnight-blue dress, my unshakeable dignity, and the sapphire necklace gleaming at my throat.

The arrogant, terrifying crime boss completely shattered before the eyes of his entire council.

He dropped flat onto his knees right on the red carpet before my silk gown, his broad hands reaching out to grab the hem of my dress in total, groveling surrender.

"Audra... please..." Dorian wept, heavy tears cutting clean tracks through his dark stubble. "Forgive me... My God, Audra, forgive me... Take the docks... take the hotels... take the entire empire... Just don't leave me... don't walk away from seventeen years..."

I looked down at the man kneeling on the carpet with zero anger, zero bitterness, and zero hatred.

"You gave her my mother's necklace, Dorian," I said softly, every word carrying a final, unbroken truth. "And you gave her my mother's house. You killed our seventeen years the night you let her lie in our bed."

I turned my back on him, walking slowly out through the high double doors of The Capital Grille into the bright evening air, leaving him to face the total, public destruction of his reputation.
