Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden HeirIn late September 2026, ten months after that fateful anniversary night at the Grand Meridian, the grand auditorium of the Plaza Hotel in Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Claire Moretti Heritage & Maternal Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated her tall, radiant figure, was Donna Claire Moretti.

Around her neck hung her late father Arthur Vance's vintage silver signet pendant, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, her hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.

Beside the stage stood Bridget Colton and Marcus Vance.

And standing on her right, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, holding baby Leo securely in his broad arms, was Alexander Moretti.

Alexander stepped up to the microphone beside Claire, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around her waist, his deep baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Ten months ago, on our fifth anniversary, my arrogance and blind foolishness almost destroyed the greatest blessing of my life," Alexander announced to the silent room, his storm-gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at Claire and their son. "And on that night, the bravest woman in Chicago taught me that true power isn't about fear... it is found when a queen reclaims her truth, saves her child, and brings her entire family back to the light."

Alexander held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.
