Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever SovereignAt 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the London horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of indigo, gold, and deep sapphire, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

Four-year-old Lily ran up the marble steps of the terrace, throwing her small arms around my legs, giggling happily as I scooped her up into my broad, loving chest.

I held my daughter securely against my shoulder, standing near the marble balustrade under the twinkling lights, feeling a deep, weightless peace settle into every corner of my soul.

Across the dark, sparkling waters of the Thames, brilliant bursts of gold, sapphire, and silver fireworks exploded into the night sky, illuminating the smiling faces of our guests gathered on the lawn below.

There were no arrogant husbands striking my face in crowded restaurants. There were no manipulative friends ruining birthdays. There were no tears swallowed in quiet kitchens.

The docile, obedient housewife was dead forever. The sovereign matriarch had claimed her throne.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, holding my daughter safe in my arms, listening to her silver laughter under the stars, I knew that my life, my heart, and my family were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
