Chapter 5 - The Fall of Julian VanceJulian Vance fell flat onto his knees right on the ballroom floor before my shoes, clutching his hands together in a groveling, desperate plea.

"Clara... please!" Julian whimpered, tears cutting clean tracks through the sweat on his face. "Listen to me! Victoria seduced me! She forced me to sign those transfers! I love you, Clara! I've always loved you! We can fix this! I'll throw them all out of the house!"
Beatrice looked up in total shock. "Julian! How could you say that about your own mother?!"
"SHUT UP, MOM!" Julian roars, spinning his head toward her with wild, bloodshot eyes. "YOU AND EVELYN TREATED HER LIKE DIRT! YOU DRAINED HER MONEY!"
I looked down at the man kneeling before me under the bright crystal chandeliers.
"You told me I was a burden who didn't measure up, Julian," I whispered, every word dropped like a heavy slab of cold iron. "You left me to wash your dishes while you brought your mistress to celebrate your success."
Two Federal Marshals stepped forward through the crowd, pulling heavy steel handcuffs from their belts.
"Julian Vance and Victoria Carter," Prosecutor Hayes declared. "You are under arrest for Grand Larceny, Corporate Wire Fraud, and Identity Conspiracy."

The steel cuffs locked tightly around Julian and Victoria’s wrists behind their backs.
Julian thrashed in his chains, screaming my name, weeping like a broken child as federal deputies dragged him and Victoria down the central aisle in total, public disgrace, surrounded by news cameras that captured their complete downfall for the entire world to see.
