Chapter 6 - The Trial of RedemptionSix months after the day beside the fountain, a formal ceremony was held at the New York Supreme Court building to finalize the permanent restoration of our marriage records and seal the family trusts.

Sebastian and I stood before Chief Justice Margaret Vance in the sunlit courtroom, holding hands, our three children sitting on the front bench wearing matching navy dress clothes, flanked by our security operators.
Justice Vance reviewed the signed documents, her eyes shining with profound respect as she looked down at us.
"Mr. and Mrs. Vale," Justice Vance spoke softly into the quiet room. "The court finds that the original divorce filings were fraudulent, forged, and executed under criminal duress. Your marriage of seven months is legally recognized as continuous, uninterrupted, and fully valid under the laws of the State of New York."
Sebastian turned to face me.
He reached into his jacket, pulling out a custom platinum ring setting holding three radiant, flawless ten-carat emerald-cut diamonds—symbolizing Noah, Ivy, and Owen.
He gently slid the ring onto my finger beside my original wedding band, his silver-gray eyes welling with deep, unhurried, and eternal tears.
"Four years ago, Maya," Sebastian whispered, his voice trembling with raw, unvarnished emotion, "I let a lie separate us. I promise on my life, my soul, and our children... that no shadow will ever touch your world again."
I leaned up, pressing my lips against his in a deep, lingering, and passionate kiss that erased every tear, every cold night, and every memory of pain.

Judge Vance slammed her gavel down with a sharp, echoing THWACK.
"Records restored," Judge Vance declared. "Congratulations to the Vale family."
