Chapter 3 - The Assembly at the Grand BallroomAt 10:00 AM the following morning, the grand mahogany assembly hall atop the New York Financial Center on Wall Street was packed to absolute capacity.

Over four hundred prominent real estate magnates, shipping executives, municipal judges, and high-society investors gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers for the annual Moretti-Russo Heritage Assembly.

Sitting at the head of the raised executive table, wearing a white silk gown, holding a gold fountain pen, was thirty-two-year-old Isabella Russo. Beside her sat her corrupt father, Victor Russo, smirking as they prepared to sign the corporate merger papers that would absorb the Moretti shipping berths into their offshore shell.

"Gentlemen!" Isabella announced smoothly into the central microphone, her voice dripping with condescending authority, "today we finalize the administrative takeover of the Moretti Logistics Berths under the joint proxy of Russo Global—"

BOOM!

The heavy double oak doors of the executive assembly hall were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!

The chatter of four hundred high-society guests vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.

Walking down the central red-carpeted aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four armed federal marshals, was Dominic Moretti.

He wore a dark bespoke charcoal suit, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, radiating an untouchable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.

And walking right beside him, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk suit that celebrated her graceful figure, holding five-year-old twins Liam and Chloe by their hands, was Donna Natalie Bennett-Moretti.

Liam wore a tiny black bespoke suit with a little gray tie, his storm-gray eyes bright and fearless. Chloe wore a matching ivory dress, holding her stuffed rabbit proudly.

Isabella Russo dropped her gold fountain pen.

CRASH!

The heavy metal pen clattered flat against the mahogany table, rolling onto the floor as her face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green. Victor Russo stood up so fast he knocked his leather chair over backward.

"I-ISABELLA...?! DOMINIC?! NATALIE?!" Victor Russo stammered, taking two panicked steps backward against the window. "WHAT IS THIS ILL-MANNERED INTERRUPTING?! SHE DIVORCED YOU FIVE YEARS AGO!"

"She didn't divorce my heart, Victor," Dominic announced flatly, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the temperature to zero. "She reclaimed her empire."

Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Isabella’s trembling hands:

TOTAL MARITIME RECOVERY: Certified federal enforcement of the Bennett Trust Deeds, transferring fifty-one percent controlling common stock equity directly to Chairwoman Natalie Bennett-Moretti and her legal heirs, Liam and Chloe Moretti.

ARREST WARRANTS: Federal arrest warrants served on Isabella Russo and Victor Russo for Frame-Up Extortion, Evidence Tampering, Forgery, and $110 Million Wire Fraud.

IMMEDIATE EVICTION: Total forfeiture of all personal properties, luxury vehicles, and bank accounts registered under Russo Global.

"THIS IS UNLAWFUL!" Isabella shrieked, thrashing wildly as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "YOU CAN'T SEIZE MY COMPANY FOR A CHEATING WIFE!"

"She isn't a cheating wife, Isabella," Dominic corrected deadpan, stepping beside my chair, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around my waist, pulling me flush against his side. "She is the Matriarch of the Moretti Dynasty. And she owns your entire life."

Isabella Russo and Victor Russo thrashed and wept hysterical, groveling pleas as marshals locked heavy steel cuffs around their wrists behind their backs, dragging them out of the New York Financial Center in total, public disgrace, while television news cameras captured their complete downfall for the morning news.
