Chapter 6 - The UnravelingThe private VIP suite on the second floor was surrounded by reinforced glass panels overlooking the grand ballroom below.

Inside sat seven senior board members of Casaro Logistics, three high-ranking capos of the family syndicate, my father, Leo, Nico, Chloe, and myself. Standing near the rear exit were two men in dark suits—Assistant District Attorney Arthur Vance and his senior federal investigator.

Nico walked up to the heavy conference table, attempting to summon the confidence of a man who believed his victory was already assured. He pulled a gold pen from his tuxedo pocket and looked at the family attorney, Mr. Sterling.

"Alright, Sterling," Nico said arrogantly, tapping his knuckles on the wood. "Slide the transfer agreements over. Let's sign the papers so I can take my rightful seat as Chairman."

Attorney Sterling looked toward Leo. Leo gave a single, slow nod.

Sterling pulled a thick stack of legal documents from his briefcase and slid them across the mahogany table directly to Nico.

Nico grabbed the pen, flipping eagerly to the signature line. But as his eyes scanned the bold headers on the text, his smug expression shattered.

"What... what is this?" Nico stammered, his voice cracking. "This... this isn't a port transfer! This says... Notice of Absolute Irrevocable Asset Forfeiture and Disinheritance?!"

Chloe rushed forward, her eyes wild with panic. "What?! Let me see that!"

"Read Section Four aloud, Nico," Leo said calmly from his chair, lighting a cigar with a slow flame. "Read it for your friends in law enforcement standing by the door."

Nico’s hands began to shake violently. "I... I, Nico Casaro, hereby relinquish all rights, titles, and legal claims to the Casaro Logistics Holding Company, the Brooklyn port terminals, and my mother’s trust... due to documented acts of treason, conspiracy, and financial fraud against the family enterprise..."

"WHAT?!" Nico screamed, slamming the papers onto the table! "DAD! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?! YOU CAN'T STRIP MY INHERITANCE! I AM YOUR ONLY SON!"

"You were my son," Leo said softly, his gray eyes burning with a terrifying rage. "Until you chose to sell my life's work to Assistant District Attorney Vance in exchange for a coward's immunity deal."

ADA Vance stepped forward from the back of the room, his hand reaching into his suit coat. "Casaro, this meeting is over! We have active federal wiretaps authorizing—"

"A wiretap warrant based on illegal, fruit-of-the-poisonous-tree evidence provided by your daughter, Prosecutor?" Attorney Sterling interrupted smoothly, sliding a second legal folder across the table toward the federal agents. "Here are the verified financial records showing your daughter, Chloe Vance, receiving fifty thousand dollars in direct wire transfers from Nico Casaro’s private offshore account to steal confidential files from your home office. That corrupts your entire evidentiary chain."

ADA Vance turned to his daughter, his face turning pale with absolute horror. "Chloe... what have you done?!"

"Dad! No! He promised me we would be safe!" Chloe shrieked, backing away in terror!

"And as for your ten thousand dollar bet, Nico," I spoke up, my voice cutting through the chaos like polished steel.

I reached into my navy silk clutch, pulled out a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills, and slammed it onto the mahogany table directly in front of Nico's face.

"Ten thousand dollars," I said, leaning over the table to stare into his shattered, pathetic eyes. "Consider your bet settled in full. But you didn't get me into bed before Christmas, Nico. You just bought yourself a one-way ticket to absolute ruin."

The entire board erupted into loud murmurs of disgust! The mafia capos stared at Nico as if he were a piece of garbage scraped off their boots.

"Myra... please..." Nico sobbed, dropping to his knees beside my chair, grabbing the hem of my navy silk gown. "I love you! I was stupid! Chloe tricked me into everything! She made me do it! Please, tell my father to stop!"

I looked down at him groveling at my feet. I felt no pity. Only the clean, soaring satisfaction of absolute justice.

"Dominic," Leo commanded flatly, not even bothering to look down at his kneeling son. "Escort Mr. Vance and his daughter off the premises. And throw this boy into the street. He is no longer a Casaro."

Four massive security guards stepped forward, seizing Nico and Chloe by their arms, dragging them screaming and weeping out of the VIP suite, while the entire underworld watched their disgrace!
