Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Crescent MoonIn late September 2026, the grand ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Brooks Triplets Heritage & Civic Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a dark bespoke tuxedo, my broad six-foot-four frame squared, my handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was me.

Beside me stood my three five-year-old daughters—Piper, Clara, and Nora—looking breathtaking in matching dark emerald silk dresses, their dark curls pinned back, their hazel and emerald eyes glowing with intelligence and happiness.

Around Clara’s neck hung Caroline’s restored silver heart-shaped locket.

I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Five years ago, I believed I had lost the light of my life in a dark hospital room," I announced to the silent room, my eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable emotion. "And eleven months ago, on a freezing rain-soaked sidewalk, my daughter Piper showed me that true love never dies... it multiplies."

I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my beautiful wife in heaven, Caroline... and our three unbroken queens: Piper, Clara, and Nora!"

"To Piper, Clara, and Nora!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
