Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden SunshineIn late September 2026, ten months after that miraculous day in the medical suite, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Mia & Clara Moretti Heritage & Healing Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, my broad six-foot-three frame squared, my handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was me.

Beside me stood Donna Clara Bennett-Moretti, looking breathtaking in a floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown, alongside four-year-old Mia, who wore a custom white dress with a red silk ribbon, holding her gray plush rabbit proudly.

Around Clara’s neck hung my late mother’s restored gold signet pendant.

I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Ten months ago, I lay comatose in a dark room, forty-nine days away from death, until a three-year-old little girl climbed onto a chair, sang a song about sunshine, and saved my soul," I announced to the silent room, my gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable emotion as I looked down at Clara and Mia. "And on that afternoon, she shattered a traitor's conspiracy, brought her mother's sovereign truth to the light, and gave my entire life a home."

I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Donna, our savior Mia, and the queen of my heart: Clara and Mia Bennett-Moretti!"

"To Clara and Mia!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
