Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeOn a clear, warm Saturday afternoon in late October 2026, the sweeping gardens of our Lincoln Park estate were decorated with yellow sunflowers, white tables, and sunlit play structures for Theo and Eli’s fifth birthday party.

The dark, predatory shadow of intercepted letters, cold towers, and five years of lost time was permanently, historically erased from our lives.

Over two hundred guests—including Frank the baker, Martin Hayes, Prosecutor Marcus Vance, local teachers, and close friends—gathered around white-linen tables set up along the stone patio, enjoying fine food, vintage wine, and live acoustic music.

Naomi Vance stood near the grand wooden gazebo, watching Theo and Eli run across the grass with two golden retriever puppies.

I walked out onto the lawn wearing a comfortable sweater, holding two glasses of fresh lemonade, stepping up beside her.

I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her back flush against my chest, leaning down to press a sweet, lingering kiss against her temple.

"What are you thinking about, my love?" I whispered softly into her ear.

Naomi looked out over the sunlit garden, leaning her head comfortably back against my chest, her hand resting over mine.

"I was thinking about eighty cents at Frank's bakery, Preston," Naomi answered softly, a radiant, beautiful smile lighting up her face. "And how two chocolate croissants brought my boys their father."

I offered a soft, breathtaking smile—a look of pure, eternal love that lit up my features.

"You saved my soul, Naomi," I promised, pulling her closer under the autumn sky. "And I will spend the rest of my life protecting yours."

Martin Hayes raised his glass from the main table, his clear, strong baritone carrying cleanly across the quiet grounds.

"To Preston, Naomi, Theo, and Eli Calloway!" Martin toasted with deep, genuine pride. "The sovereign family who broke the dark, conquered the storm, and claimed their true home!"

"To the Calloway family!" the entire terrace echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, dozens of crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.

Across the dark, sparkling waters of Lake Michigan, the evening sun set beneath the horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of gold, rose, and deep sapphire.

There were no arrogant mothers plotting in dark rooms. There were no cold silences or lonely nights keeping their hearts from peace. There were no fears, debts, or shadows separating their lives.

The cold, isolated billionaire was dead forever. The sovereign father, Chairman, and queen had claimed their true home.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped safe in the arms of the woman he loved, watching his two brilliant sons bloom under the autumn sun, Preston Calloway knew that his life, his heart, and his family were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
