Chapter 6 - The Festival of Four TapsIn late September 2026, the grand ballroom of The Pierre Hotel—the very room where I had knelt on broken glass ten months earlier—was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Danny Vance Foundation Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated my tall, graceful figure, was me.
Around my neck hung a delicate diamond signet pendant, my dark hair falling in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.
Beside the stage stood eight-year-old Leo, looking magnificent in a mini tuxedo, proudly holding his silver fidget coin, alongside Bridget Colton and Marcus Vance.
And standing on my right, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was Dante Moretti.
I adjusted the microphone, my clear, silver baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Ten months ago, I was an exhausted waitress kneeling on this marble floor, told to keep my head down and stay out of the guests' business," I announced to the silent ballroom, my voice carrying a quiet, silver authority. "And on that night, I learned that four simple taps against the stone can break down a wall of darkness... and bring a family home."
I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To truth, neurodiversity, and unbroken love!"
"To Sophie and Leo!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
