Chapter 3 - The Assembly at the Marble HallAt 10:00 AM the following morning, the grand mahogany assembly hall of the New York Financial Center was packed to absolute capacity for the annual Moretti Corporate Heritage Assembly.

Over four hundred prominent business magnates, syndicate leaders, municipal officials, and high-society reporters gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Sitting at the head of the raised executive table, wearing a dark velvet suit, holding a silver-headed cane, was sixty-five-year-old Evelyn Moretti. Beside her sat her arrogant son, Julian Moretti, who wore an expensive suit, smirking as they prepared to sign the corporate guardianship papers.
"Gentlemen," Evelyn announced smoothly into the microphone, her voice dripping with aristocratic deceit, "today we celebrate thirty years of Moretti commercial dominance, while ratifying the permanent administrative transfer of young Leo's trust due to his tragic, permanent incompetence—"
BOOM!
The heavy double oak doors of the assembly hall were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!
The chatter of four hundred high-society guests vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.
Walking down the central red-carpeted aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four federal marshals, was Dante Moretti.
He wore an magnificent charcoal bespoke suit, his broad frame squared, radiating an untouchable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.
And walking right beside him, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk gown that celebrated her graceful figure, holding eight-year-old Leo securely by his hand, was me.
Leo wore a custom navy suit, his dark hair neatly brushed, his brown eyes bright, calm, and unbroken as he walked beside me, tapping a small silver fidget coin against his palm in a steady rhythm.
Julian Moretti dropped his pen. His face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green.
"D-DANTE...?! SOPHIE?!" Evelyn stammered, taking two frantic steps backward, her silver cane clattering against the floorboards. "WHAT IS THIS AMBUSH?! THAT WOMAN IS A LOWLY WAITRESS!"
"She isn't a waitress, Evelyn," Dante announced flatly, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the silent hall, silencing four hundred people instantly. "She is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Leo Moretti Trust... and the protector of my bloodline."
Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Julian’s trembling hands:
TOTAL CORPORATE RECOVERY: Certified enforcement of the original Moretti Trust Deeds, confirming eight-year-old Leo Moretti as sole fifty-one percent common equity holder under the guardianship of Dante Moretti and Sophie Vance.
THE MEDICAL FRAUD INDICTMENT: Federal arrest warrants served on Dr. Adrian Vale for falsifying medical records and administering neurological suppressants to a minor.
CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY WARRANTS: Federal arrest warrants served on Evelyn Moretti and Julian Moretti for Extortion, Child Endangerment, and Interstate Wire Fraud.
Evelyn fell flat onto her knees behind the table, her silver cane clattering against the floor, her breath coming in ragged, hysterical gasps.
"THIS IS UNLAWFUL!" Julian thundered, thrashing as federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "YOU HAVE NO PROOF OF EXTORTION!"
"We have the wire transfers from your Cayman accounts to Vanessa Blake, Julian," Marcus Vance declared coldly.

Julian thrashed and wept hysterical, pathetic tears as marshals served him with civil asset seizure notices, evicting his family from their luxury estates on the spot while news cameras captured their complete, public downfall for the morning news.
